This Privacy Policy explains how Number Plate Studio("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you use our website (https://number-plate-studio.co.uk) or place an order with us. We are the "data controller" for the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Information we collect

  • Contact & order details — your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
  • Order information — the plates you order, your vehicle registration and your chosen options.
  • Payment information — card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Identity & entitlement documents — for road-legal plates, UK law requires us to verify your identity and your right to use the registration. You may provide documents such as a driving licence, V5C logbook, V750, V498/V498E or V778.
  • Communications — messages you send us by form, email or WhatsApp.

How we use your information

  • To process, make and deliver your order.
  • To verify your entitlement to a registration before making road-legal plates (a legal requirement for registered number plate suppliers).
  • To provide customer service and respond to your enquiries.
  • To take payment and prevent fraud.
  • To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

Legal bases

We rely on: performance of a contract (to fulfil your order); legal obligation (to verify entitlement and keep records as a registered supplier); legitimate interests (to run our business, prevent fraud and improve our service); and consent where you contact us voluntarily.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where necessary: with Stripe (payments), our delivery couriers, our email provider, our website host, and — where we are legally required — with the DVLA, police or other authorities. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep order and verification records for as long as required by law and for legitimate business purposes, after which they are securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing and to data portability.
